Jane Russell is best known for being a bonafide model of sex in the film industry. Jane Russell moved from the Midwest into California in order to land her first part in "The Outlaw" in 1943. She was the oldest child and the sole child of five siblings to Geraldine Russell and Roy William Russell. Her siblings were Kenneth, Wallace, Jamie and Thomas. Her father was an U.S. Army first lieutenant and her mother was an actress in a traveling group. Jane began piano lessons in the early years of her life because of her mother. Jane later became interested in acting and joined Van Nuys High School's stage production team. She always wanted to be a designer of some sort however, following the passing of her father in his mid-40s, she took work as receptionist. Jane began modeling when her mother urged her to.
