Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). In her early years she was enrolled in her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was six years old when she decided she wanted to pursue a career as an actress. Emma's debut on the big screen took place in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone which was released in 2001. This film was 2001's highest production, and it broke records during the opening day as well as the first weekend. The film has been praised by critics for its film and the performance of the three principal young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a popular British paper, praised her for her exceptional performance. Emma's performance was nominated and was awarded five awards for the movie.
